Recent years have seen the development in the Philippines of a lot of newfangled teas based on herbs and vegetables.
It used to be all we had was imported Lipton and Nestea — that meant instant tea bags and powder mix.
Now it’s all about going back to native concoctions from olden times like salabat and pito-pito, using a mix of native plants to make “tea.”
Of course for those busy and always on the go, there are bottled tea drinks like C2.
By the way, the Tagalog word for tea is tsa or tsaa.
