Walis Tambo, often translated into English as “Whisk Broom” or “Soft Broom of the Philippines”
Fair warning: Most walis tambo are known to shed. That’s just the way they are because of the thin reeds used and the simple manufacture. Sturdily made tambo brooms are really hard to find.
The best ones are associated with Baguio, and you can find that city’s name on the broom handle.
Walis Tambo can easily found in Filipino stores in Los Angeles; however, the quality is often subpar — the brooms look malnourished and the color is not golden but sad. It’s really hard to find a reliable supplier, but we’re working on it. 💪🏼
