How To Make Ube Halaya (Purple Yam “Pudding”)
Ingredients
115 grams of ube powder
1/2 cup sugar
3/4 cup evaporated milk
1 tsp butter / margarine
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup condensed milk
a few drops of vanilla
Mix all the ingredients together, except for the butter/margarine and vanilla.
Cook over slow fire until mixture becomes thick and the desired consistency is achieved.
Place on lightly greased molder. (Greased with butter or margarine.)
Can add cheese.
Ube Halaya can be spread on cakes, pastries, and breads. It can also be a filling or spread. Ube Halaya can of course be eaten plain as is, perhaps after chilling, as a snack or dessert.
