This kitchen tool has been referred to as Melon Stripper or Young Coconut Scraper / Grater / Baby Coconut Spooler.

Use on the soft flesh of young coconuts (buko) and maybe even mature coconuts (niyog).

In the Philippines, it’s mostly for making noodle-like strings out of “melon” (cantaloupe) flesh.

This one with the wooden handle is made in Thailand. Yes, even in the Philippines, Thai-made graters are used. The other kind that’s Philippine-made is the metal scraper, which is harder to find stateside.
