Llanera / Lyanera / Liyanera / Leche Flan Mold… for making the Filipino version of milk pudding or crème caramel.
Usually about 16 centimeters in length, 11 cm in width, and 3.75 cm in depth.
Very flimsy and rudimentary… it’s like an old man casually hammered pieces of scrap metal into shape… One out of two of these metal molds are likely to leak.
Still, these are a very popular item ordered by Filipino Americans stateside because of the nostalgia they evoke. If you haven’t seen these being sold by the roadside in the Philippines, we suggest you buy only one first, so you know what it’s like and won’t be too disappointed. 🙂
