Kaldero / Caldero with cover
This rudimentary metal pot was often used for “boiling” rice, as a step up from the traditional clay pots called palayok.
Of course these days, Filipinos use specialized rice-cookers.
Theoretically this could also be used for making stews and broths… like sinigang, nilaga, paksiw… but honestly, one is better off just using contemporary cookware.
