Ho-Land brand of Ube-Langka Hopia
Hopya are thick pastries created by Fukienese immigrants from China. These goodies can have different shapes and fillings. The most common type is round and filled with black mung-bean paste.
“Ube” refers to the purple yam, a root crop, while “Langka” is the jackfruit known for its strong yellow-orange flesh.
In the United States, these products must be kept chilled.
Manufactured by Ho-Land Bakery located in Binondo, Manila, Philippines… The World’s Oldest Chinatown!
Often misspelled as Hol-land or Holland.
