Ho-Land brand of Hopiang Baboy
Hopya are thick pastries created by Fukienese immigrants from China. These goodies can have different shapes and fillings. The most common type is round and filled with black mung-bean paste.
“Baboy” is the Tagalog word for “pig” and by extension, “pork meat.” By tradition however, Hopia Baboy does not use pork but instead uses wintermelon known as kundol / condol in the Philippines, as a substitute.
In the United States, these products must be kept chilled.
