Carabao Energy Drink was made by the Thai rock band Carabao, whose members met while studying at the Mapua Institute of Technology in the Philippines, a country whose native water buffalo is known in English as carabao.
Kalabaw is the Tagalog word, while Karabaw is the Visayan. Both Tagalog and Visayan are languages of the Philippines that are influenced by Malay.
The animal is known for toughness… so release your inner kalabaw! 🙂
