Datu Puti, for decades, has been synonymous with VINEGAR in the Philippines.
Who doesn’t remember the Mukhasim talaga commercials? (Probably those only pretending to be Filipinos but never really grew up or spent enough time in our country.)
It was only later that Datu Puti branched out to soy sauce, and more recently to making sauces for their Adobo Series.
